Some may think that luck is all you need in playing bingo, some may rely on personal superstitions, and some may believe that certain techniques are needed to win this game. Entering the world of bingo, whatsoever you beliefs are, requires one to first obtain the knowledge about the proper etiquette and fundamental rules in playing it.
How to Win the Game
Shouting “Bingo!” as loud as you can is needed, when the player thinks that he won, for the floor walker and the caller to take notice of. The card is verified, and if a win is confirmed, the winner takes the pot money. Even if a you had already filled out the pattern, you would still be disqualified and unable to take home the pot money, when you did not shout “Bingo!” before the next number is called, and as a player you should know this fact.
The pot money will be divided to two winners equally in half if there will be two winning cards in a game. Same principle will be applied if a game will have more than two winners. After all the winners have been verified, the pot money will be divided among them.
Common Bingo House Rules
Rules in bingo halls, though basically the same, may differ from one bingo hall to another. It is wise to read thoroughly and understand the posted rules before the game begins. Look also for special handouts in case there may be additional or new rules. Whenever you have a question in mind, it is best to ask the floor walker about it, not your seatmate. If you do not want to disrupt your concentration and miss many of the winning numbers, you might as well do the questioning before the game begins.
In most bingo halls, players should be 18 years old and above. Some halls prohibit alcohol, while some allow their players to drink a little. Smokers must bear in mind of the designated smoking and no smoking areas. There is a no-bringing-in-of-food policy in some halls, though others do not really care if you’ll bring food.
In the reservations of cards, some bingo halls do not allow it and you must buy the cards once you have arrived, but some halls do allow it. Players are prohibited to going in and out the hall in certain halls for the duration the games with high stakes. This brings me to one important reminder. Never try to alter or tamper your bingo cards. Having experienced and knowing the game too much are the reasons why you just can’t fool those callers and floor walkers. Your time and effort will just be wasted, and you will also be risking yourself to be marked as a cheated, banned and indicted permanently at the bingo house. It is always a good decision to play clean, follow the rules and be honest.
Bringing of companions while playing are not allowed in some halls, though some allow them, and the children can even play the special bingo kiddie games. If you’ll bring your little kids, just make sure they don’t annoy other players by running around the bingo hall. Bring something to distract and keep them quiet. When playing, don’t shout out the remaining numbers you need because this may be rude and ruins other players concentration. It is best to always bring a valid ID with photo and other requirements, if you are determined to go for the big time pot. They may come in handy just in case you win.
